Senior RF Planning Engineer (5G rollout/Telco/South/Perm)

Company Overview

We are partnering with an up-and-coming telecommunications company to find a talented Senior RF Engineer for their Planning, Optimisation and Project team. Our client is a new player in the telecom industry, driven by a commitment to enhancing network performance and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. We are searching for an individual to oversee the deployment of advanced RAN systems, promoting network expansion and operational excellence.

Role Summary

As a Senior RF Engineer, your primary responsibility will be to manage the deployment of advanced RAN systems in order to meet network rollout and performance objectives as mandated by the regulatory authorities. You will collaborate with the parent companies, known industry leaders, to ensure that network projects are delivered on time. In this role, you will also be responsible for network performance monitoring and optimization, ensuring the network meets quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with the parent companies and system vendors to ensure the deployment of advanced RAN equipment is executed according to project timelines.
• Plan and facilitate the integration of new network elements into our client’s RAN network, ensuring timely execution.
• Oversee the generation of monthly network performance and usage reports to ensure compliance with Wholesale and Shareholder Agreements.
• Monitor and analyze radio network performance daily using key performance indicators (KPIs) and third-party data sources, and provide insights and recommendations for network improvement.
• Detect and address network performance issues in collaboration with the parent companies to ensure network quality assurance.
• Manage and evaluate change requests for network parameters raised by the parent companies as part of network optimization efforts.
• Plan the network evolution roadmap with the parent companies to ensure our client remains at the forefront of 5G technology implementation.
• Plan and conduct resiliency audits in partnership with the parent companies to comply with regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with the parent companies to monitor radio network performance and ensure adherence to regulatory 5G quality of service (QoS) requirements.
• Develop and evaluate technical requirements jointly with the parent companies.
• Ensure compliance with all other regulatory requirements, including project milestones, user acceptance testing reports, and requirement traceability matrices.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities on 5G Exploratory Platform (5GEP) deployment requirements, providing configuration information and necessary updates.
• Administer system and user management functions of the Network Planning Tool/System, including access rights, software/hardware maintenance, and database management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering, with a preference for specialization in Info-communication or computer engineering, or a related qualification.
• 6 to 10 years of relevant experience.
• Familiarity with IP networking concepts is a plus.
• Proficiency in network measurement post-processing, coverage planning, and OSS tools.
• Strong technical knowledge in 4G and 5G radio access networks, coupled with data analytics skills (PowerBI, Tableau) and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Programming skills in SQL and Python are beneficial.
• Strong data analysis and technical problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• Capable of working independently and as a collaborative team player.
• Effective communication skills.
• Strong work ethic and proactive approach to tasks.
