Coiled tubing operator
About the job
Operate equipment to increase oil flow from producing wells or to remove stuck pipe, casing, tools, or other obstructions from drilling wells. Includes fishing-tool technicians. Ensure the safe and efficient execution of various coiled tubing operations to meet client’s needs.
Responsibilities:
- Plans and performs necessary calculations for the job at the well site as needed.
- Communicates effectively with management, field coordinators, clients and crews in the planning, coordination and execution of operation.
- Reviews treatment programs to ensure they include the proper function, are error free and are within the capability of the crew and equipment.
- Coordinate activities of coiled tubing operators during equipment rig up and rig down on location.
- Completing a driver vehicle inspection report (DVIR) to provide information on fluid levels, engine and belt conditions, air brakes, slack adjuster, air lines, wheels, etc.
- Driving and operating in the coil tubing unit or support equipment, such as the fluid pump or crane, to assist in the completions of an oil and gas well.
