Risk Management Manager

Our client is a Korea-headquartered banking institution offering range a comprehensive range of financial services. They are  seeking a highly motivated Risk Manager to join their team and play a crucial role in safeguarding organization’s success. This position demands a skilled professional who can identify, assess, and mitigate a comprehensive range of risks, encompassing Business Continuity Management (BCM), Environmental Risk Management (EnRM), Outsourcing activities, Technology Risk Management (TRM), and Operational Risk.

 

Responsibilities:

• Enterprise Risk Management:
  • Proactively identify and assess potential risks across the entire organization, considering internal processes, external factors, industry regulations, and activities related to BCM, EnRM, Outsourcing, TRM, and Operational Risk.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management plan that outlines strategies to mitigate or minimize the impact of identified risks.
  • Work collaboratively with various departments to implement risk mitigation controls, such as establishing safety protocols, purchasing insurance, or diversifying investments.
• Business Continuity Management (BCM):
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a robust BCM program to ensure the organization’s ability to recover from disruptive events with minimal downtime.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential threats to business continuity, including those related to outsourcing, technology dependencies, and operational disruptions.
  • Develop and test business continuity plans to ensure effective response and recovery in the event of a disruption.
• Environmental Risk Management (EnRM):
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate environmental risks associated with the organization’s operations, including those related to outsourced activities and third-party vendors.
  • Develop and implement environmental management plans to minimize the organization’s environmental footprint and comply with relevant regulations.
  • Stay up-to-date on environmental regulations and ensure the organization adheres to best practices.
• Technology Risk Management (TRM):
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate technology-related risks, including cyber security threats, data breaches, system outages, and technology disruptions.
  • Develop and implement controls to safeguard the organization’s technology infrastructure and data security.
  • Stay up-to-date on emerging technology risks and industry best practices.
• Communication and Reporting:
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels about potential risks, mitigation strategies, and BCM/EnRM/TRM/Operational Risk initiatives.
  • Prepare regular reports documenting the risk management process, its effectiveness, and program performance across all focus areas.
• Compliance and Training:
  • Ensure the organization adheres to relevant regulations and industry standards related to risk management, BCM, EnRM, Outsourcing, TRM, and Operational Risk.
  • Develop and deliver training programs to educate employees on risk management best practices, BCM procedures, EnRM principles, TRM processes, and operational risk mitigation strategies.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Business Administration, Information Technology (IT), or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in risk management, with a proven track record of success.
• Strong understanding of risk identification, assessment, and mitigation strategies across various risk domains.
• Experience with BCM, EnRM, TRM, and Operational Risk Management principles is a strong asset.
• Experience managing risks associated with outsourcing activities and technology infrastructure is preferred.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in MS Office Suite and risk management software (if applicable).
