Deputy Director, Financial Control & Reporting (GLC)
About the job
- Lead and provide strategic direction and oversight in all the Financial Management activities, ensuring adequate controls around processes and systems are in place to comply with the organization’s financial policies and procedures, statutory requirements and driving business processes to improve efficiency and meet organisation goals.
- Oversee the financial accounting and reporting activities (including audit, taxation, company secretarial, corporate governance and risk management) to ensure accurate, timely and compliant reporting.
- Ensure smooth financial operations and robust controls are in place for key functions, including cash management, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets management and employee reimbursements
- Lead the engagement of stakeholders on financial related matters or matters arising from compliance, controls and risk.
- Lead and motivate the Finance team, and provide mentorship and guidance in their career development.
- Proven leadership and management experience.
- Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and written.
- Must be able to engage with staff at all levels of the organisation and exercise sound judgement.
- Steadfast in driving assigned tasks to fruition and resolute in overcoming challenges
- High level of integrity and openness combined with commitment to good corporate governance
- Analytical and technical problem-solving skills with acute attention to details, requirements and timelines
