Legal Counsel (Data Centers)

Our client is a leading data center company listed on both the NASDAQ and the Hong Kong Stock Exchange. They are well-funded and a rapidly growing venture after completing numerous M&A deals across Malaysia, Japan and Europe.
With over 100 data centers globally, they offer a comprehensive suite of services to a diverse clientele, including hyperscale cloud providers, internet giants, financial institutions, telecom carriers, IT service providers, and large corporations. While Malaysia is currently their central hub, they’re actively expanding with plans to establish more headcount in Singapore.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and ambitious team at a pivotal stage of growth. You’ll play a key role in supporting our international expansion through strategic legal expertise.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex legal documents for project financing (facility agreements, loan agreements, etc.)
- Conduct meticulous due diligence, identifying and mitigating risks related to properties, titles, and legal matters.
- Collaborate seamlessly across teams (underwriting, asset management) to streamline real estate financing processes.
- Become a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, providing legal insights on real estate M&A decisions, guiding transaction structuring, and managing risk.
- Offer comprehensive legal counsel on a wide range of matters impacting daily operations (securities, privacy, intellectual property).
- Manage and lead external legal resources, ensuring optimal support for the company’s needs.
- Provide guidance on employment law matters (hiring, termination, etc.).
Requirements
- A qualified lawyer in Singapore with an LLB (or equivalent) from a top university (common law jurisdiction).
- Minimum 4 years of experience in a prestigious international or Singapore law firm.
- Prior experience in real estate and value-added telecommunications a major plus.
- Command respect with exceptional legal drafting and negotiation skills.
- A mature, pragmatic, and self-motivated individual with a “can-do” attitude.
- You thrive in a fast-paced environment, excel at multitasking, and work independently.
- A keen eye for detail with a solution-focused approach.
- Possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, with high integrity and a team player mentality.
